With change keeping time at our backs, and a countdown clock clicking behind our ears, I am quite aware that to "spend time" with someone actually has a deadline. It has been 20 years since I took a trip alone with my mother. I'd say the time to spend was long overdue :). So, at the last minute, and with a thank you kiss to Hubs and the kids, Mom and I packed the car and set off for an adventure to one of my favorite places in this state, St. Augustine, FL.
If you have never been, think old European cobblestone streets, horse-drawn carriages, skinny alleys lined with B&B's, and deep, rich history caked into the coquina walls and Spanish-style houses. It is an absolutely amazing little town, the "oldest continuously occupied European-established city in the continental U.S." (wikipedia), older than Plymouth Rock and Jamestown.
Simply put, if you find yourself in FL, you must go. You won't be sorry, I promise!!
Speaking of spending time, posts may be few and far between this week as we relish the moments with our family. I am wishing you deep breaths, wide spaces for peace and beautiful memory making.
with love
xoxo
