A Pocketful of Moments

A week full of moments and joy:

This moment was taken yesterday as we walked through the streets of downtown Boulder. What I should have done was sit down right next to her and join right in...

the Italian chocolate budini at Cafe Pasqual's (thanks Katie) in Santa Fe

Rt. 285 from Santa Fe through Colorado: the most stunning drive I've driven so far

stopping by Ojo Caliente Hot Springs (thanks Lisa) --beautiful place!!

happy reunions at the airport, especially our own :)

the morning mountain view outside my window

house hunting (even if it's just rentals, it's so much fun isn't it?)

the view from one of the homes we looked at...someone pinch me
(and no, we probably won't take it, we don't have 4 wheel drive yet--Haha!)

It's been a great, wild ride from FL to Colorado. Emotions of every kind have surfaced, permeated, and flowed right on through. From  heartache, anxiety, fear, and even the horror of watching a life disappear, to a deep, grounding sense of gratitude and humble contentment for the changes we have been able to make. With any great change there are risks we take, sacrifices we make, and even heartache we face. Warren Buffet said "Risk comes from not knowing what you're doing." I respectfully disagree and would rather say risk comes from knowing exactly what you are doing, and doing it anyway...

"Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight, or any experience that reveals the human spirit."
~E.E Cummings

Wishing you a beautiful weekend

  1. I disagree with Warren too, but whole heartedly agree with you! Lovely moments. I have never been to Boulder (just a drive through downtown on the way to the airport) so I am looking forward to seeing it through your eyes.

  12. It's going to be so fun seeing Boulder from your eyes and recognizing places that I visited by could not see when I was was living there! We're in the midst of visioning for our future, but I must say I am supremely stuck with zero vision. So happy yours is clear! xoxo

  19. MJ,
I just got caught up with all your road trip posts. It's been super crazy here, and our computer is dying, but was wondering about your cross country trip, all the same. What an amazing experience you are having. A real gift, that I know you see and appreciate. So bitter-sweet, with dual emotions we mother's experience when parted from our children, and then the experience of the death of that man, with the wonder and beauty of our country before you...your words and images are so vivid and concise. Thank you for sharing..hoping your family finds your home (even a rental yes) soon.
    Cheers,
    Leah
