Subdued revelations

You don't need to give up
to stop struggling.
Give in to quiet,
slow down
and hush the wheel
of thought.

If the answers are
meant to come,
they will,
but not before
remembering that
what you are now
is exactly what
you need to be,
now.

I feel different, much different from the fragile and dissatisfied girl that has recently taken up residence in my skin. How easily consumed I become. Yet I cannot blame myself for getting lost in the dreaming, hoping, and wanting. Passion has a way of coercing and possessing our thoughts that way. We are gifted with the ability to drift into the current of creativity and completely immerse ourselves in the clouds of thought, for they are lofty and inspiring. Yet to be gone too long, we deny ourselves the pleasure of enjoying the scents of our surroundings, and we forget how hard we have worked to become exactly who we are now. The insatiable abyss of "what if" and tomorrow can wait.

Joy. Today. Now.

  2. oh your teapot!! lovely shot too.

i believe that every passionate and creative person needs those visits into the dark. it's the only way to recognise light when we finally see it.

seems we're both done with that visit for now ;)

  5. the answers always do come. we just have to have our eyes open to see them. it's easy to lose focus while trying to force the results we think we should have. accept and go with the flow, there is always a reason. always something to learn. and i LOVE the teapot!!! that photo is so soothing.

(p.s. - yes, there is an abundance of goodness in those dandelions!)

  7. MJ, this piece is the perfect description of that need to be reflective, mindful, dreaming...yet knowing that it is equally balanced with remaining in the day of our days and the current being we are.

I am grateful for your honest sharing of your heart, and take comfort in knowing that amazing women like you willingly describe those times of shadow.

  9. Very much agreed.
Last night I was lying in bed thinking...you can have the most blessed life in the world, but if you don't love yourself, it's really just a waste.
Perhaps that's not exactly what you are talking about, but it does fit in somewhere.

  10. Beautiful, MJ. Yes to Now :) Yes to everything you've written here—I love to dream too (and worry), so your words are a mindful, peaceful reminder to also look around and see what Is. Thank you so much, dear friend.

  11. Wise, good, stuff.
Its a delicate balance of being positivity expectant and excited, and contently present isn't it?
    Cheers.
