Lovely

This weekend was full of lovely things.  Blooming flowers...

an evening on the beach with friends...

and an afternoon braving the crowds at the Winter Park Arts Festival where beautiful art and talent could be found at every turn...

Why did I take this lady's picture? Because she is NOT REAL. She is a sculpture, more eerie in person than on camera...

And finally a chance for all budding artists to have a turn...

Amidst all the lovely things, many other moments filled our spaces:

*story moments--some watched and some told (click play for a laugh),
*swimming moments--very short I might add (brrrr),
*sushi and sake moments with hubs,
*speedy knitting moments (gotta finish!),
*and last minute cleaning and staging moments, looking for the perfect person to fall for our home...

I swear I wish I could freeze time when our house looks this clean and good, as homeschooling never allows it to stay this way!! Shall I share pics? I have loved seeing glimpses of yours, maybe I'll do the same :)...

Hope your weekend was filled with lovelies, too :)...

Of friends and flying...

We spent a lot of time wandering with friends this week.  Though our homes are separated by an hour's drive, that time seems inconsequential now, as our friendships continue to grow and take flight.

One visit was to a dropzone nearby where parachutists from all over the world come to this little town to train and practice for competition.  While many dropzones around the globe are covered in snow and cold, this one is one of the few that can offer warmer, clear blue skies.

A few days later and a little closer to home, we went on a boat tour of a gorgeous chain of lakes, lined with million dollar homes and the scent of quaintness and history.

Along for the ride was a chill in the air we probably could have done without :).

And so our week wrapped up with a little of trying something new...

a lot of what we normally do...

with plenty of laughter and giggles in between...

We have seen and done much this week, not unlike many other weeks. What made this week so sweet was the time spent discovering with new friends from Germany, and friends we are still getting to know.  All that we have shared, our common thoughts and ideas, the French pastries, the laughter, and our dreams of rendezvousing in Tuscany will be cherished for days to come.

I shot an arrow into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For so swiftly it flew, the sight
Could not follow it in its flight.
I breathed a song into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For, who has sight so keen and strong
That it can follow the flight of song?
Long, long afterward, in an oak
I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end,
I found again in the heart of a friend.

Mom's Day Off

So I discovered that I have yet to find my supermom suit anywhere in this house. It's funny how I still walk around sometimes thinking that I can do all and be all without any repercussions. Yeah, repercussions, they kind of crept up on me this week. You know, the grumpy, irritable, "oh woe is me" martyrly kind of repercussions that arrive every now and then. They usually are met with comments like "Wow, honey, are you all alright?" or "Geez mom, you might need some time alone..." or "Dad!! Take us with you!!!"  By then, I usually get the picture. Time to regroup, relax and stop looking for that supermom suit because it doesn't exist.
So, my hubs and the kids loaded the car and took off to the beach, and left me to myself for a little while. In addition to getting some much needed quiet time, I received some beautiful reminders today.

One, slow down...
Two, breath...

Three, repeat...
