Joining Ginny in Yarn Along~
What would you think if, within a week and a half of each other, you won these 3 knitting books? Well, actually it was 2 different giveaways, but one included 2 books!! Thanks to you all, I was inspired to read these books, but then to win three in such a short time frame, I think the universe is trying to tell me something, don't you?
I want to thank Amy, of Knitter of Hat Speaks for Needles and Pearls, and the Beach Street Society and Yarn Club, and Sherie at Rain Blissed for The Friday Night Knitting Club, for these wonderful giveaways. The question now is, which one do I start first? Any suggestions?
I am still in the midst of my fling, but should be finished by the end of the week. I have plans to continue the afghan after that, but I have to tell you, it's getting really hot down here. And for those still in snow, I wish with all my might I could send some of this your way. This kind of heat is the miserable kind, the unbearable, sweat behind the neck, can't breathe deep, crank the a/c kind of heat. The kind that says, why the heck are you still crocheting shawls and afghans???? So, with exception of the occasional crocheted flower for the afghan, I think I am going to hang up my needles and hooks for a bit. I think it might be time to take the dust cover off my sewing machine. I am quite giddy about it actually, I think it's dying to be used and I know I am dying to use it :).
Looking forward to seeing what you are yarning along today!!
That yarn is gorgeous!!! What fun knitting needs. I've only read Friday Night Knitting Club. It was a quick and pretty fun read.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing what people are crocheting... it's on my to-do list to learn.
The books sound like they would make good beach reading! I do know what you mean about the heat--91 here today! Have a great day MJ.
ReplyDeletePS- any plans for the sewing machine? I can't wait to see!
lucky you! i rec'd a copy of the friday night knitting club from the publisher for review years ago - it's great light reading, perfect for summer!
ReplyDeletehow exciting, enjoy your new books!
ReplyDeleteI just think that yarn color is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOooo, I don't know those other 2 books! Will have to be on the lookout for them :-). Sorry about the icky heat...can you sit on an air conditioning vent and knit? ;-).
ReplyDeleteHow Lucky! I have three new books to add to my list! That yarn, while taunting you because it's soo hot, is delicious!
ReplyDeleteMake a bikini with that awesome yarn! Probably won't do so well in the water, but it'll look darned cute!
ReplyDeleteOoh, they all sound great. We are also making the most of some amazing weather here. It's like a gift! We'll be back to an optimistic shade of grey again no doubt. So I'm firmly setting up shop in the garden with books, knitting, kids & cold drinks.
ReplyDeleteI love the colour of that yarn: I have one ball of similiar colour, in silk, and don't know what I can do with it- not enough to make anything really! I might have to make some corsages or something to use it up, the colour is gorgeous. I've only read the Friday Night Knitting Club, you are sure to enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteOh, one can never have too many books! Your fling is still positively beautiful, too.
ReplyDeleteI can definitely see wanting to hang up your needles for a bit ... I think the heat here is what has kept me from answering that little voice inside that wants to learn to knit. Now that we're headed someplace with a winter, I may just have to take up the needles this year!
Sweet new books! Enjoy them - maybe over ice tea...or more of that frozen yogurt you taunted me with a few weeks ago. ;)
ReplyDeleteI guess I will endure the piles of snow to avoid that kind of heat...Stay cool!
you're kicking butt with all your knitting and crocheting! I can't believe how very good you've gotten in such a short time!
ReplyDeleteI am still so in love with the color of that yarn!
ReplyDeleteYay for winning the books. I have a giveaway going on my blog at the moment, you never know your luck! The yarn you are using reminds me of a hat I knit for Jairah for winter last year. It is a lovely shade. Hope you have lots of fun creating on your sewing machine. Jacinta
