Yarn Along ~ Creative distractions

Before I get started into Yarn Along, thank you, thank you, thank you for all the beautiful birthday wishes yesterday.  Your words will continue to lift me for days!!

Yarn Along with Ginny!!

I swear I just need to stay out of the yarn stores. On one of my last visits, I found an irresistible book called Gifted: Lovely Things to Knit and Crochet, and they were not kidding!! The Downside said in a fatherly voice "You don't need more projects MJ, you still have your afghan and a sewing project laying all over the table."  Then the Upside said in Zsa Zsa Gabor's voice "One can nevuh be too showt of projects dahling, especially if you already have the yahn!"  I love the upsides, and I love Zsa Zsa.

So there you have it, another adorable cap has drawn me in.  I have to make an I-cord which I have no clue how to do, but that's what You Tube is for :).

Still reading the same books as last week. I have gotten so emotionally involved with the Woman in White that I couldn't put the story down!!  I would have hated being a woman in Victorian times.  But the story itself is rich with intrigue and excitement. The characters are masterfully created and my emotions are now tied to every victory and defeat. It's a roller coaster and if you like roller coasters you'll love this book :).

Looking forward to your yarn along!! Happy Wednesday :).

  2. new projects are fun :) I have 3 or 4 started right now but I've left them all at home - so I could concentrate at my exams (I'm at school right now)
...that however didn't stop me from pulling out one long-forgotten project from my drawer and crochet in between the lines of my anatomy books :P

the book looks lovely! - and you should definitely listen to the Zsa Zsa voice every time you hear it ;) :D

  4. You are as glamorous as Zsa, Zsa - that's for sure! Glad she lives with your Father. ;-) I learned to do I-chords on youtube...fun and easy, so I have no doubt you will pick it up quickly. I will add Woman in White to my already out-of-control library queue. Thanks for the recommendation. And for your parenting encouragement. I really must learn to trust myself in this department!

  9. I fell in love with Zsa Zsa Gabor when I was very young and Green Acres was my favorite show!

Your hat looks too cute. I want to learn how to knit so I can make adorable things like that. I can crochet..but knitting eludes me.

I have to get that book! I'm in the mood for a good read, thanks.

  10. Sounds like a great book.

I-cord is not as difficult or scary as you think (I-cord is shorthand for idiot cord.) I have faith in you, MJ.

The way you describe books always leaves me dying to read them, too.

  15. I read the Woman in White this winter and loved it. I totally agree with you about not wanting to be a woman during Victorian times. Life would have been so restrictive. And I love your dueling voices. I have those too, but without the fancy accents :)
