Autumn shadows

source

I know it's not possible to actually feel the Earth move. But when seasons begin to change from summer to fall, I think it's the sun that reveals Her secrets. While rays reach like fingers vast across the surface, nature follows suit. She knows it's time to shed again. Down here, where there are no fall foliages, no symphony of reds, oranges, or yellows on the trees, it's the shadows that play the music. I can feel it in the mornings and the evenings, as the sun rises and sinks, like the ripples at the edges of a skirt...soft... subtle...That's when She sings the loudest, and I swear, I can feel her move...

My favorite season is peeking around the corner. Please excuse me while I do my happy dance.  And because the leaves go straight from green to brown down here, you'll have to excuse me borrowing for everyone else's autumn colors  :). And if you have some subtle signs that sing to you, please do share:).

  1. It's always just before bed in my time zone when I visit your space, and I think I need to save just your posts for morning, because, however simple of complex, they always leave me feeling so refreshed and excited to jump right in to whatever life brings me next. Beautiful photos!

I don't want to be ungrateful, because I really do love our life here in the land of perpetual summer, but photos like these make me dream of autumn in the states. In Colorado, it was the breathtaking orange and yellow aspen-dotted hills that marked the brief but definite transition from summer to winter for me, and I looked forward to that all year long!

  2. Ahhhhh yes this is my favorite time of year by far. One of the best things about living in the northeast is the dramatic change of the seasons. All the fall colors are spectacular!

  14. Halloween is my favorite time of year -- all pumpkin's glory in leaves and all trick-or-treat's gigglyness in autumn's decor and cooking.
I am doing my happy dance as the morning's welcome frost, fog and chill. Woohoo!
