There is still a little giveaway happening here :)!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Greetings from the land of sick. We have been in a cave for 4 days now, but we see the sunlight up ahead and say thank you for all the well wishes. There's nothing like a little virus to help you remember to be grounded and still.
Lately, reminding myself of the wonder in the ordinary has given me something to smile about. I spent an hour skimming the brown, withered leaves off our pool the other day. I didn't want it to end really. It's one of those mindless zen tasks that just soothes and quiets with each repetitive motion. Seeing brown against blue always calms and brings me peace, too. The contrast is so ordinary in our everyday--brown earth, brown trees, blue sky, blue water, yet the combination is so undeniably beautiful, the connection so deeply rooted to our earthly selves. I have always spent a lot of time looking up, but there is much to be said about looking down and realizing what keeps us firmly grounded. Cheers to brown and blue, may you see it too...
Wishing you peace friends and a gorgeous weekend
xoxo
MJ, I am so glad to see this post and hear that your baby is feeling better! It is no fun to be sick on a birthday and to cancel the party would be beyond disappointing.
ReplyDeleteYour pool cleaning reminds me of how I feel about folding laundry, very soothing.
I hope you are able to enjoy this first weekend in the new year and the days bring joy to you.
These pictures are so beautiful MJ -- even the one of your sick little lovey! I am glad it has helped you to slow a bit and enjoy the task of cleaning leaves....a cleaning task like that represents so much more when done mindfully, huh?
ReplyDeleteSending well wishes and good health your way!
oh man! so sorry about the virus - happy birthday do-over! great pictures-
ReplyDeletelook at that sweet girl. i hate for my kids to be sick, but i do love giving them ‘special’ care. i hope your new year is lovely and that ‘evolve’ is full of joy and wings and wondrous surprises!

We got pushed around by a virus or two....still coughing a tiny bit after several weeks!

ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear that illness has reigned for so many days. I hope you're at the tail end!
ReplyDeleteI'm inspired by your brown and blue. I am feeling decidedly un-grounded and have told the husband I need a nice hike or day by the water this weekend. Looking forward to it!
I'll be on the lookout for brown and blue this weekend....Have a wonderful one!

Our pool has been closed since October but when it is opened I really do not mind fishing out leaves. I am so glad that everyone is feeling more like themselves.
ReplyDeleteHmmm....brown and blue. I have brown hair, and I just ordered blue dye to color a patch in front. :) So, I'll be seeing it, too. Not sure if that's what you had in mind, but there you go. ;)
ReplyDeletesorry to hear you guys got the virus bug. I was lucky to miss it, but the husband wasn't so lucky.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous reflection. Brown & blue keeps popping up around in our home since I read this, can't wait to see what pops up outside. :)
(ps: thanks so much for the comment concerning pricing. You gave me some great ideas!)
