"We are all wanderers on this earth...our hearts are full of wonder, and our souls are deep with dreams." ~ Gypsy proverb

it's always there, we just have to see it ♥

A Walk

My eyes already touch the sunny hill.

going far ahead of the road I have begun.
So we are grasped by what we cannot grasp;
it has inner light, even from a distance-

and charges us, even if we do not reach it,
into something else, which, hardly sensing it,
we already are; a gesture waves us on
answering our own wave...
but what we feel is the wind in our faces.
~Rainer Maria Rilke

We are mistaken if we think that the light in our dreams is what will make us whole. We are already light, we are already whole, we are already beautiful. Does this mean we don't reach for the stars? No, it only means to unseal what is closed, mend what is broken, embrace what is real, and walk where your heart desires. The stars are already in your pockets...

  2. oh...I could go on and on about this one because it's such a part of my existence.
I've decided that we DO reach for the stars because that is our nature. But also to remain very thankful for what we have and what we are. It's not "bad" to desire more if we are not doing it to make us whole. Because, correctly, we already are whole. Beautiful land, clean air, wonderful community for ourselves and our children, fresh food, art, creation, self-expression. How could any of that be not worth reaching for and expanding on.

  3. I read this one a couple times through.
And yes reaching for what we already possess is the key. The phrase has been running through my mind the last two days: "why do I keep getting bogged down trying to fill myself on the cheap imitation tinsel of this world".
Just when I proudly think I have it all figured out God reminds me I am still that stumbling child who so often foolishly gets distracted from those things that are real and good right in front of me.
    Wonderful post again MJ

  4. Yes! Yes! Yes! Wonderfull! It lifted my spirits and made me do a happy dance. I love it when things we already "know" are phrased in a way that we truly get them. Thanks for being a teacher MJ!

  5. Beautiful!!

It's always good to dream and reach for the stars. As long as we don't spend so much time dreaming and reaching that we forget how much magic is in our lives right now.

  6. This is beautiful. I wonder what you see in the tree photograph, I suspect it is something quite different from what I see :-) And yet I also suspect that we would use the same name for our very different visions.
