No internet for nearly 3 days.
Disgusting discoveries left by previous tenants who apparently didn't like to clean. Let's just say 3 hours with the microwave.
No car for 5 days--major oil leak ragin' like a river, and then the bill, uggh....
A bladder infection and a trip to the E.R. to let me know that I am not superhuman and impervious to earthly illnesses.
Antibiotics...
No humidity = dry skin!! Yep, I've got scales.

Making my own space in a little corner under the stairs and the visions of what I'd like it to be
A new-to-me reclaimed desk with my up-cycled chair.
A 1920's antique dresser for $25!!!!! Needs some TLC, but it's a beauty. C. will be proud :).
The arrival of beautiful things from Amanda and her shop, a vintage mug and her handmade sachets:). Thanks Amanda!
And a week before that, the products that arrived from Laura Emily's shop. Thank you Laura Emily, as usual your products are a treat and a pleasure :).
And finally the long anticipated arrival of Migrations of the Heart by Kelly of Umber Dove, I know just where this beautiful watercolor will nest...
It's a little pink looking due to the sunrise coming from the window :). |

The painting is simply breathtaking. And hooray for all kinds of goodies for you and your new home to balance out the bad case of "sees".
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine how hard it must be to let go when you've been schooling your little ones at home, but from everything I've heard and the handful of friends we have living in Boulder, it's a wonderful community for schooling. I hope your kiddos love it, and that you love some extra time for yourself. :)
Happy Weekend!

Your new place looks beautiful, MJ, and I mean that about your place under the stairs and your place in your new State and in the mountains, and your place as you move into all this New and more New. I have been following, ever so quietly, and smiling and sending love… and I can't wait to read the post about the Montessori adventure. Oh, who am I kidding? I can't wait to read your next post, period. :)

Beautiful painting and your friends care packages are beautiful. The body has it's way of reminding us that we are not super humans and it's better we listen. I hope you feel better. Dry skin loves lavender oil after the shower ;o)
ReplyDeleteIt is my first visit on your blog and I am glad I found it!
I'm sure you're super busy setting up house, but try to take some time for you. Stress is wicked! Quite the week you've had. Hopefully you'll find your groove soon.
ReplyDelete1920's dresser for $25?!?! That is a sweet deal!
I found a packet on the floor of my car the other day - addressed to you - argh! I still have it. When I took a whole bunch of packets to the post office a while ago I thought it had gone with them - d'uh!!! Will send it really soon - promise!!! (Been kinda crazy here too). Sending get well hugs to you and lots of love X
ReplyDeleteI just received a shipment from Laura Emily too! I have almost consumed all of mine in the bath. Hiding it from the kids. It's for MY bath! We're moving too so I can completely sympathise though we're at the 'sold-house-but-may-be-homeless-for-a-few-days' stage. Darn real estate agents. No internet? Shudder.
ReplyDeleteGosh, you are on an exciting journey.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful painting....and I love the mug!
Wishing you well...xxx
great to catch up with you, mama.
ReplyDeletecan't wait to hear more!

Change is constant isn't it? And even good change (like you are going through) is hard work. It sounds like you all are doing it gracefully though. And I love your little space!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear from you, friend. What a wonderful reminder of the ebb and flow of things daily. HUGS! Your space under the stairs is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGreat space, looks like it has a lot of light. We all need reminders that we are indeed still human. Such lovely gifts and I checked out Kelly's Umber Dove - wow, she's an amazing artist. Here is too change, sending you all positive energy :)

ReplyDeleteGlad to see you finding your place. And try take care of yourself Mama!
ReplyDeleteAnd I've been putting oil on my skin (and face!) for years to make up for the lack of moisture in this climate. Give it a shot.
Happy homemaking!
I love the sees and saws. I've been thinking of you and am glad you had a bit of time to pop in here and share them with us. I hope you're all healed up thanks to those bothersome, but sometimes helpful antibiotics, and continuing to dream in that new little space of yours. I'm so curious to hear more about the school decision and how you're feeling about it. Boulder is a pretty great place for Montessori, to be sure! I hope it all feels "right" for each of you.
