Lurker

Okay, my confession is that I have been wanting to lurk more than post in the past week or so. The writing that has emerged from my pen is not something I really want to post--dark and gloomy, contemplative and even negative. I call it mental vomit, cleaning house, purging the pestilent thoughts that like to visit me now and then. As much as I prefer being honest in these pages, I also prefer to keep some sensations under lock and key, at least for now, do you know what I mean?

So in the meantime, I am posting Alfie and his most beloved toy on the planet, the adorable felt mouse that I won from a good friend a while back. This spunky and smart as a tack cat will drop that mouse right on my keyboard to let me know that he wants me to throw it, and then we play fetch. We will play fetch at least 3 times a day!! Dang I love this cat....he can pull me from that greasy, seedy neighborhood in my brain and remind me where "here" is :).

much love

xoxo

  1. Leave it to a cat to *know where it's AT*!!! Give yourself a hug.

  2. I know exactly what you mean, there is something dark about these days. Though we need it, so that we can then bring in the light. I hope that the light shines upon you and you find the "here and now" within. xo

  4. Yes, I am all for expressing yourself...but sometimes restraint has it's upsides too. We all have those lurking dark clouds blow in once in a while...you're handling it with grace as usual my friend!

  5. I hope you finish purging and get back to blogging. Your blog is lovely and you have a talent that people love to see. Gloominess is okay once in a while. What cheers me up is shopping for new pens, paper, notebooks!! Take care and have fun with your little buddy :)

  7. I hope you find your groove again soon MJ, I have missed you. Life is always so full of ups and downs, often from one day to the next, and I find myself wanting to just stand and shout for it to stop! Sounds crazy I know, but jeesh, sometimes...! Much love to you.

  8. Thank the heavens for sweet creatures like Alfie! I know the feeling MJ - I've felt that way. Currently I haven't even been lurking, I've been completely nonexistent. Life will look differently again!

  10. There is a oneness to creation. Don't push those dark thoughts away. They are part of the oneness! They reveal themselves when they are acknowledged, welcomed, even...yes...loved. Just as we all do.

Share them if you want, or don't. But keep writing them down, giving them their space. Extend some acceptance their way, and smile at them if you can. They might just climb up in your lap for some comfort and reassurance, if you let them. I wonder what you'll learn from them then?

    Damn that cat is cute.

  12. I know exactly what you mean, MJ. Sometimes I feel like I can only write with any sort of depth if it's about the darkness and yet I mostly keep it light, if only for the fact my girls might read it one day. Seriously thinking of starting an anonymous author blog though. Alfie is lovely :)

  13. I find it is in the darkest places that light is always revealed...there must be a crack somewhere and the light is finding it's way in, maybe only in small strands, but soon, entire skies filled with it.....be patient, it's growing....silence and dark always reveal answers for me. And what a sweet companion for your quiet days:)

  15. every moon has a dark side. it doesn't make you shine any less. it's absolutely natural, and has so many valuable lessons if we're open enough, and comfortable enough with our selves, to learn from them.

    much love to you!

  16. missed this.

yes, being authentic doesn't mean exposing our underbelly all the time. some want to be kept soft and safe within.

  17. What a gorgeous kitty cat! You know, our poodle, Cardamon, loves to sneak the girls felt mice too! Maybe I should make them with catnip, or maybe there is an equivalent for dogs? Actually, Cardamon loves any of the girls felt animals, cheeky boy! I'm glad Alfie is such a good companion. If you ever want any more mice for him to play with, let me know. Jacinta x
