the white and the gray

Snow has arrived in the past two days, and with it an awakening. I quiver, wondering and curious as to how I lived so long without the gift of seasonal transitions in my life. Walking amidst the whiteness and hearing the muffled crunch beneath my boots, I notice the air is deathly silent despite a hint of cool, biting breath on my lips. Looking up, I am dusted by the white and the gray, baptized by nature's hands upon my head, illuminated with the joy that is snow...

The snow won't be staying too long this weekend, so we plan on reveling in it as long as we can.

Wishing you a weekend full of wonder, too.

xoxo

It's been so long, it seems, but I have been reading and following you as you wander, wonder, and discover... and oh! what a journey you are on! I feel so blessed to watch it unfolding. Your beautiful and moody photos, your reflective and rich words, and mainly just YOU coming through on these pages. Delightful!

  17. "baptized by nature's hands upon my head..."

Your words are beautiful MJ. And the pictures show the glory you are finding in this snow of yours!

I've grown up enjoying all of the seasons and when asked, I can never name a favorite. I love many things about each, and mostly the transition from one to the next. I am so happy that you are finding that beauty too!

Enjoy! (And get yourself some chapstick too!)

  18. My family moved from Chicago to Florida when I was 11 months old. It wasn't until I was 22 that I experienced my first real cycle of seasons...spring, fall, winter. I simply couldn't believe the beauty. Autumn still tugs on my heartstrings, as does the first snow. A blessed gift for us warm blooded Southerners. ;)
