I am wooed by color, completely. I am enchanted by the hues that have seeped into memory this weekend via optic sponges. The contrast of blues on greens, the fearlessness of red and its ability to change with just a smidge of light, the yellows and browns, and even the black and whites gripped my visual attention, inspiring. The Van Gogh exhibit opened this weekend at the Denver Art Museum, and I have to say it was mind blowing, truly. A Jedi master of color is what he was...
I've also been playing with the polaroid and Impossible Project's latest film. The surprise of color, the wonder of what will surface makes me feel like Charlie opening a chocolate bar...Yes, I am still addicted. And now something new...bookbinding. Autumn really is THE time of the year for beautiful colours. Add to that an exhibition of an amazing artist like Van Gogh and I can really see that you must have had a great weekend. Certainly more exciting than mine... ;-) Hope you have a good week ahead xo

DeleteIt looks like you had a very full and enjoyable weekend MJ. I am so thrilled that you are learning bookbinding and hope you share more in the future. I bought some lovely paper months ago to try my hand at this craft, but like so many things, it is stil waiting for me to find the time.
ReplyDeleteI have always loved your photos, but they're an even more special treat now that they offer glimpses of the state I hold so dear :) Your book binding is gorgeous- it seems a natural extension of your love of the written word, to be sure.
ReplyDeleteThank you Melissa :)

ReplyDeletelovely bookbinding mj. i think you will fill those pages quite nicely. i see a face in the tree if the nose is the stick coming out and it's sort of a side profile - only one eye showing.
ReplyDeleteYay! Glad you saw it too! My husband thought I was nutty...
