this weekend, found...

This weekend we found:

A refurbished olive green desk for the girl from this fabulous new store in town. Reclaimed furniture is so awesome I get giddy to my bones when we find something we need (and not just want ;).

Popcorn factory tin delivery (from wonderful friends in NH)!!! I choose caramel popcorn over cheese 99% of the time. You?

In the mail, a sweet and thoughtful gift from this friend who knows my new love for crafting books. Thank you so much lovely lady!!!

Time to put together our annual gingerbread house and...

all was going well until...

CRASH!!! Final construction was a major fail!! The roof pieces (as I suspected) were far too heavy for the rest of the house and the runny icing was useless as "glue". Grrrr. I was deeply disappointed, but I found that my kids really weren't too concerned with the construction, not when the house is edible just the same :).

And one last thing I have found is that I am beginning to despise Blogger. I have been trying to make changes to backgrounds and templates for months with very little success. I get glitch after glitch and contacting blogger has been a ridiculous escapade. So, now I am seriously considering switching over to a new host, or finding some other solution. I would love any recommendations from you all!!

And because Monday always needs a little hop to get us going:

  1. What a great little desk, I do love how the universe works, you needed a desk, you found a desk.
I am very unhappy with Blogger too and have plans over the holiday break to move everything to Wordpress, I was told it's easy to do, so we'll see.

  5. Nooo, such a shame about the house! I hope you've managed to fix and re-roof it since! The desk is gorgeous, what a fantastic find. Can't really suggest anything with regards to Blogger as I'm still with it. I do spend a fair amount of time trying to figure out little bits in html though... good luck! Have a lovely week xo

  8. Love the desk, of course.
Sorry about the g-bread house. Yes, eating it is fun too.
I've had NO complaints about Typepad. Love it actually. Once you get the hang of how to use it, it's easy and the tech support is great. It is $14/month though. Not sure if Blogger is free?

  11. I love that desk! I can only imagine what a sweet find that was!

I moved from blogger a year and a half ago now, and it is still my best blogging decision ever.

  12. excellent desk, i would love it myself. and i know what you mean about finding the reclaimed furniture you really needed.

aw, but it all tastes the same going down. my girl would have thought the crash the best bit :D

i'm a die-hard Blogger blogger. Nowhere else is it free and we can do so much. I considered wordpress for my new venture, but i just can't justify paying for a blog. Rather put that cash towards a book, or chocolate....

send me an email if you like, i'm a Blogger whizz. it may not be complicated.

  13. oh dear poor house! Ive had some mega cake disasters too but as long as its edible the kids really aren't bothered! Typepad looks quite good for blogging, my partner uses it but I'm a blogger girl. :)

  14. wow, what a score for M's room!! we've never made a gingerbread house. I think the kids (ok, myself, too!) would eat all the pieces before we had a chance to put it together.

I like blogger, but I'm used to it and don't want to spend time having to learn something new. there are some things I would like to change, but I don't think it's blogger as much as it's that I need a graphics program of some kind.

  15. That desk is awesome; the color is super cool.

Oh Blogger. I like that's its free and that I already know my way around. I am not very computer savy though, so if I was (or had more time to become) I might feel differently. Hope you get it all worked out!

Popcorn!!! I say, one handful cheese, one handful caramel, repeat, repeat, repeat :)
