Whooosh!!

You want to know what went really fast? The weekend. Whooosh!! So fast that I recall fragments by bits of color like green, orange, and chocolate brown.

Green:
I recall Friday in green due to a mouth-watering meal that Hubs and I ate at this place. I had fried green pickles served with a side of green goddess aioli as my appetizer. Yes, let me say it again--FRIED, and it was worth every. green. bite.

Orange:
Saturday brought me a little package that opened bursting with orange--a delicious orange tote, covered with pomegranate print. It is so beautifully made, and came as a giveaway win from this friend and blogger!! Thank you!!! The tote is now home to my growing blanket throw that I am still knitting (can anyone give me a hallelujah for knitting progress please??).

Chocolate brown:
Sunday was chocolate brown Hershey's bars and gooey, white, burnt melted marshmellow flanked by crispy honey graham crackers. It was s'mores, by the fire pit, with the neighbors, guilty as charged. (Watched Clue again recently, love that movie..)

Happy Monday

Weekend hues

do you see a face too?

Fox Games by Sandy Skoglund
I am wooed by color, completely. I am enchanted by the hues that have seeped into memory this weekend via optic sponges. The contrast of blues on greens, the fearlessness of red and its ability to change with just a smidge of light, the yellows and browns, and even the black and whites gripped my visual attention, inspiring. The Van Gogh exhibit opened this weekend at the Denver Art Museum, and I have to say it was mind blowing, truly. A Jedi master of color is what he was...

I've also been playing with the polaroid and Impossible Project's latest film. The surprise of color, the wonder of what will surface makes me feel like Charlie opening a chocolate bar...Yes, I am still addicted. And now something new...bookbinding. To read books, to write on inviting white pages, to  hoard collect them, to be obsessed by love them, yes, it's a lifelong affair that never gets old. But now I have taken the relationship a step further and have learned to make them. The craft of stitching them together lovingly, carefully, intentionally, yes, we have reached a new level, books and me :).

So enough about my weekend...how was yours????

Monday love

Feel

Sometimes we have reason to talk less and feel more, and running away with our emotions feels good. Passion and creativity can lie in these spaces and drowning in feeling is like swimming with a deeper part of ourselves. I can stay here for a little while, and know I have taken a lovely excursion without going anywhere but within. Yet, coming up to breathe is essential and reminds us that above the surface is where life takes meaning.  It is where we paint the canvas to explain where we have been and where we wish to go. This is our duality, our yin and our yang, our permission to fall behind, as well as our permission to shine...make no excuses. You are just as beautiful in the dark cold depths as well as in the warmth of the yellow sun.

"There can be no transforming of darkness into light and of apathy into movement without emotion."

In living color

I had few words this morning, and am feeling a need to turn inward for a few days.  So, I thought it would be perfect when I saw Ginny's post this morning, to join in and just share some living color.  Have a wonderful day and be back in a few :)...
