5 minutes for creativity

Do you do what I do? Do you constantly look for that 5 minute window to do something creative? Whether it's knit for 5, write for 5, sew for 5?  Sometimes I get lucky and those 5 minutes creep to 10 or even 15.  Other doses of 5 minutes are spent hopping around visiting your spaces. Inevitably, in all that hopping around, I find inspiration, leaving me wanting and searching for 5 more minutes of course :). But yesterday, thanks to Viv (thanks Viv!), I stumbled on a cute challenge that the entire family can do together for a minimum of 5 :)!!!  It's Daisy Yellow's Index Card a Day Challenge.

I think what I love about this challenge is its simplicity.  Many families are creative everyday, so this may be nothing new. So I say push the envelope a bit. Create a theme every day or every week.  Do poetry, a haiku, explore color, lines, cut and paste, dye it, collage it, turn it into a book, write inspirational quotes, whatever, the sky is the limit!!!

All you need are a stack of 3 by 5 index cards, lined, plain, or colored, and pens, markers, paint, colored pencils, or whatever you like to create with. Make a card everyday of the week, except one (you get one day off), for June, July, and August. You can use Daisy Yellow's prompts if you would like, or no prompts at all.  You can post on your blog, twitter or in the group Flikr page.  Talent not required :) (thank goodness).

There is one catch if you want to participate, TODAY IS THE LAST DAY to join!!!! Will you join us?
And there is no need to play catch up, just start today :). Just visit Daisy Yellow and let her know!

much love to you and may your creative juices F-L-O-W!!!!

xx oo
