Morning meditation ~ Summer

Note to myself:

Summer is for living. Wide open days lined with dreams of adventure and discovery. Epic novels, bountiful gardens, a loaded car to tackle the road to memories. Sprinklers reflecting rainbows in the sun, a visit to see Grandma with all her goodies, firecrackers, fireflies, and cold iced tea. Lazy, shirtless (or bra-less) days, movie marathons, and watermelon. Children brown and tan, grinning from ear to ear, begging for sleepovers and camping underneath a blanket of stars.

It's here, the longest day of the year. Spend it wisely, joyfully! Make it last. Say "yes" to spontaneity!  Spread your arms and hug possibility, don't let it get away!!  Notice everything.  Smell everything.  Capture everything. Turn on the music, play it loud, play it all day long...

Some summer sweetness to bring in the season:

Midnight in Paris, written and directed by Woody Allen. Imagine being in Paris, and then traveling back in time to meet Ernest Hemingway, Picasso, Rodin, Gauguin, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Zelda, and then having Gertrude Stein read and critique your novel, and love it.  I loved this movie, witty, adorable and funny, a great way to welcome summer.

Bohemian Twilight's Boho giveaway. Books, bookmarks, body lotions and bandanas, to name a few... don't miss it!!

Happy Summer Solstice (and winter to our friends down south)!

much love

  8. I have always used mindfulness to become part of the moment of doing something and fully engaging. For instance, when drinking tea or coffee, fully become aware of all aspects of the preparation, pouring, and drinking without thinking of something else. Just be present, its a great exercise and then return to the breath when needed.

  13. That is just how I feel about this season, too. Not because of weather (coastal coolness usually here), but because of what it means being together. I LOVE your header photo!
