Outline
I don't need to see the details all the time. When I squint my eyes just enough, the features fade into hazy lines that color, not define. The big picture helps me remember what makes a day worth living, and with the right outline, everything else falls into place.
Eat well.
Move my body.
Breathe deeply.
Love.
Do something that brings happy.
Monday love...
xoxo

Self soothe...

Images are what have been soothing my soul lately, images and a strong need to write. I sit down with a head full of words--then, as if by telepathic timing, suddenly both kids are up-- ready and wanting to start their day. Sometimes they can go off and do their own thing in the mornings, feed themselves breakfast, giving me reprieve to write more. Other days the boy is magnetically attached to my side asking questions or the girl is crawling into my lap and I can't see through her dark hair and big skull. Oh beautiful peace and elusive quiet--how I miss you most when I can't have you!!!!!
Deep breath...But that's alright. I tell myself to remove the thinking, and stay present. My time with them grows shorter by the day. Be mindful, stay grateful, and capture what you can. My time will come, sooner than I think...and then I will miss them and wonder where our time together has gone. Oh the irony....
Peace friends, I'm off to finish reading Peter Pan...
PS. Thank you to my lovely friend Jacinta from Embracing It All, for a sweet little giveaway I won recently...A pair of adorable handmade hair clips and the little felt mouse....thanks Jacinta--M. loves them :).

Morning meditation ~ Summer
Note to myself:
Summer is for living. Wide open days lined with dreams of adventure and discovery. Epic novels, bountiful gardens, a loaded car to tackle the road to memories. Sprinklers reflecting rainbows in the sun, a visit to see Grandma with all her goodies, firecrackers, fireflies, and cold iced tea. Lazy, shirtless (or bra-less) days, movie marathons, and watermelon. Children brown and tan, grinning from ear to ear, begging for sleepovers and camping underneath a blanket of stars.
It's here, the longest day of the year. Spend it wisely, joyfully! Make it last. Say "yes" to spontaneity! Spread your arms and hug possibility, don't let it get away!! Notice everything. Smell everything. Capture everything. Turn on the music, play it loud, play it all day long...
Some summer sweetness to bring in the season:
Midnight in Paris, written and directed by Woody Allen. Imagine being in Paris, and then traveling back in time to meet Ernest Hemingway, Picasso, Rodin, Gauguin, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Zelda, and then having Gertrude Stein read and critique your novel, and love it. I loved this movie, witty, adorable and funny, a great way to welcome summer.
Bohemian Twilight's Boho giveaway. Books, bookmarks, body lotions and bandanas, to name a few... don't miss it!!
Happy Summer Solstice (and winter to our friends down south)!
much love

Morning meditation
Note to myself:
Don't think. Don't get caught in that trap. Don't get caught in believing that there isn't enough time. There is plenty. But you can't do it all. Some things just have to wait. And when you fill your mind with too many things, there isn't room enough to breathe. That's when your heart begins to race as fast as your mind. That's when your neck gets tense and your shoulders are up to your ears, your chest is tight and the worry lines begin to scrunch on your forehead.
Stop. Look. Listen.
Do you hear it? The hum of the fridge behind you. The touch of the keys underneath your fingertips. The trees outside the window blowing in the breeze. The sunlight breaking through the blinds. The neighbor's cat on his morning walk through your backyard. How I would love a cat. Focus!!! Take a deep breath, now.
Don't forget what brings you here. Don't forget today's purpose. Feel alive, give love, remember abundance. Don't forget to wander a little, don't forget to wonder. You have all you need. Now go take your shower :).
much love
