Weekending

And what a full weekend it was... So full that I didn't start packing until last night. I didn't sleep very much, but I guess with 12 hours to go on the plane that won't matter...

This weekend was:
bike riding with friends to an annual festival,
performers lining the streets (including Bruiser here),
along with artisans, vendors,
kids' rides and of course festival food like kettle corn.
An impromptu bbq with friends at home,
and a birthday party to top it all off.

But the best part of this weekend was that it
did not end like it began.
I believe there is purpose to heartache and confusion,
and it's called faith and hope.
And even when direct answers are not found,
sometimes it's because
they aren't needed.

I also believe that we all want the same thing,
to be looked in the eye
and have our soul recognized,
through our human faults and shortcomings,
our fears and failures.
A wish that our truest selves
still shines brighter than any
dark storms that may distort our vision,

The weekend has come full circle
lined with a silent understanding,
and a promise for a different ending.
We have found goodness and
an olive branch,
peace and an easier ability
to exhale.
Somehow things always
end better when a little
faith is involved...
