A loooong weekend

Okay, so I was sick most of the weekend.  But not before we were able to go hiking at this place again with some friends. But after that,  my butt was kicked by a bad reaction to allergy medication. Go figure. I have been battling for 3 weeks the seasonal allergies here in CO, so I took Benadryll just once, only to have it knock me down for the rest of the weekend. To add worser (yes, I know) to worse, I had another allergic reaction to using Neosporin on a cut. I learned the hard way that Neosporin and Triple antibiotic can cause a terrible reaction to 30% of people who use it. So not only did I have this vicious rashy growth thing on my cut under my eyebrow, but I was confined to the bed through a long weekend of a BBQs, trips to the reservoir/beach, time with friends, and all the fun Labor day stuff that people do.
Waaahhhhh.

*sigh*

But, I did finish Mockinjay by Suzanne Collins (the final book in her Hunger Games series) in one day. I did watch Pride and Prejudice, twice. And I did relish in all the love from my 3 favorite people in the whole wide world :). Thanks for cooking, doing the dishes, cleaning the cat poop, and taking the kids everywhere my darling husband.

I am on the slow climb back up today, hallelujah.

Hope your weekend was far far better than mine...

xoxo

With Amanda today!

  1. Sending you healing energy!! And it is always good to look at the positives, you did get to go hiking, which is fabulous. Plus, sometimes you just need to be sick and be taken care of. Your body needed it :) xo

  3. Oh, it's so yucky to be sick, but way way yuckier and worserer (I know!) to be sick when there's so much fun to be had, all going on without you. Pang! And yes—waah—I agree!

I hope you get much, much better very soon. Sending love and warm wishes. So glad you have your beautiful people taking care of you.

  5. Dude...that is rough! Will be looking forward to your goodreads review. And was it the Pride and Prejudice with Keirra Knightly? I entertained this labor day weekend...which was fun, but has me clamoring for some calm and a clean, kid-free kitchen.
    Try not to itch.
    Cheers,
    Leah

    1. Yes it was! A more succinct version of the book, but I like it :). I have the other one too, with Colin Firth, but the chemistry with kiera knightly is so strong!

  8. Oh, and I was thinking your little corner of the world here online was quiet because you were out and about in the loveliness of the weekend!

So sorry. Though the love and care of those 3 wonderful people of yours certainly can help the healing!
