Pulse

There is much happening around here, a lease has been signed, a move-in date has been settled, and this mama is hunting furniture on Craig's List, at thrift stores, estate sales, and reclaimed furniture stores :). I am very much in a task-oriented phase, which leaves little room in my brain for creative energy and expression. There is a bit of lunacy in it all, so I come here to pause, find pulse and reconnect with the peaceful. I remind myself that busy-ness does not mean aliveness. Pulse thrives in taking time to witness the new growth of crocuses and daffodils that have arrived with Spring, the gurgling rush of water carving it's way down a creek, the sound of feet crunching on gravel and scraping against rock, the jubilant laughter that my children express freely, the sacred evening mealtimes we spend together nightly, and the rare, but sweet embraces my husband and I steal together in this tiny, crowded house.

Pulse exists here too in all the kind and knowing words you left for me in the last post. You are all such wise and wonderful women, thank you.

"And now I see with eye serene, the very pulse of the machine." ~ William Wordsworth

  5. Sounds like everything is falling into place - in its own adventurous ways. Enjoy the process while you are in it - take the breaths and observe your surroundings. You say it all so beautifully. It is so nice to see pics of Colorado - your photos are wonderful. We will be back April 19th. It would be great to meet up when we return.xoxo

  10. Lovely. I knew you four would find your way to that creek. The pull of the water is exceptionally strong, especially for those of us that come from it. Now, just you wait until tubing season begins on the Boulder creek! Come July, the creek is home to a flotilla of tubers and kayakers and it's a hoot!

    exactly!

there is a ton of fired up energy out there right now, but it is easy when you have something specific to get done, like you guys, to get caught up in the doing alone.
allowing some embers to simply smoulder and prepare is good too.

  14. MJ! What a great post. I know this feeling all too well right now. I am working hard to settle in and just breathe, no matter what goes on around me. As my husband is fond of telling me, my happiness is dependent on ME, not my surroundings and life circumstances. You seem, for all the upside down of life right now, down right happy. That, my friend, is as it should be! I wish you love and light and peace... Erin
