As with all things and a winner

I haven't been sharing everything with you, mostly because I haven't been able to sit long enough to compose anything. As with all things, there were good things, and there were not so good things this past week.

Not so good:

Hubs had surgery yesterday, a micro-discectomy. Not really that uncommon, but scary enough. It is an outpatient procedure here in the States, but we were at the surgery center from 7:15am to 4:45pm. A long ass day and one groggy, hallucinating husband.

Good news:

That was the worst of it :). Surgery went well and he is on the upswing. Other good stuff included meeting this sweet blogger and her boy, Avi, for coffee the other morning. Meeting other bloggers is so good for the soul. Thanks Jules, it was such a pleasure!!  Another good thing, I am knitting again. I worked furiously yesterday while waiting for Hubs to get out of surgery. What knitting does for the nerves is better than anything other remedy I can think of :).

And I saved the best for last: the giveaway winner!!! By random.org---lucky # 7!!! Amanda from Bound from Home. Amanda, congratulations, I am thrilled for you!! Pixie will be emailing you immediately as class starts on Monday. I'll *see* you in the classroom!

Have a great weekend friends! We are in for a chilly one the next few days--SNOW!!

  1. MJ, I am so glad your husband is okay, no matter how simple, surgery is scary!
Hooray for knitting again! I am slightly addictive to the craft myself and love it!
Snow? You are due for snow? Well, I am totally envious! ;)

  5. Happy to hear the surgery on your hubby went well and he is on the mend. Knitting is quite the tranquilizer -- isn't it?!!! Congratulations to the winner. Enjoy the snow!!!!

  7. I'm so happy your husband's surgery went well. I hope his recovery continues to go well.

I read this about an hour ago, and when I read the winner, I needed to read it two more times, clicking on the link to make sure I read it right. The tears immediately started flowing. I needed to step away and compose myself so I didn't come off as a blubbering fool! The tears are still flowing, though. :) I can't thank you enough for this opportunity. I'm so looking forward to all the growth in the next few weeks. And to be doing this amazing work with you - such a gift! THANK YOU!!

    1. This makes me so happy Amanda, I think it was meant for you truly...

  8. So happy for you Amanda, seeing your reply above makes me teary too!
And MJ: Glad your hubs is ok. As they say, minor surgery is not minor to the patient and his family.

  9. glad to hear he's okay and that you have good things coming your way. i knit the whole time indy was in surgery too. i wouldn't know what to do with myself otherwise.

  10. Hooray for Amanda -- and for MJ and the universe for making it all come together just right! Isn't it wonderful when the right people come together at just the right time?!

Hugs to you all as you settle in a bit for recovery...and knitting too!

  11. I've been thinking about your Hubby all this week. and you and your kiddos and your beautiful smile and the relaxing nature of our meeting. I'm so thrilled to know you MJ and I'm looking forward to knowing you more (and often)!

Wishing your hubby a speedy recovery - may it be soon and very soon!
